Back to reality...

I saw the tag "Valencia" and I thought...I wonder what that means...well, V. does love orange, or maybe she's making reference to the apartment I lived in on West 2nd that i got evicted from...hmmm. Ha! I get it now...Val-encia. Funny how the mind works, or doesn't sometimes. Thanks for the great pics V. We'll get to the VAG when you return. This job is a short one. Have the most amazing trip.
It's the storm before the calm Dorita. Is this a theme you are familiar with or what! Thanks for the thoughts on the magnetic pull...good to think about the ways to get something aggravating to work for you, not against you!
OK my sweets...look forward to communication soon. xoRooster

Farm/City

While I was gone a piece of my art sold at a one night show at Centre A....very exciting. I have also been asked to participate in a show in Halifax as part of an installation piece which will have a story written about each artists component and then a video made of that story.. and then the whole show goes to Ottawa.....am excited but don't know what I will do. I will take my sausage to Haida Gwai and think about it. Will also work on my rusty farm bits sausage to start a Hillside piece. See you all when I get back from the Queen Charlottes. Just wanted to give you all a visual reminder of the Hillside Farm, Art, Lavendar Farm, Cheese Farm and Llama wrangling....

The storm before the calm...

Hey ladies, Well, we've got a week and a day until moving day! In the mean time I'm putting all that creative talent to use as I swim my way around half packed boxes of books to get to the kitchen for a cup of tea. My sausage spilleth over with cutouts from old magazines I've decided to toss, and I've decided to go through all my winter clothes to do a clear out for the second hand store... And it's all scattered through the living room at this very moment- making the chaos level in this tiny apartment a solid 10 out of 10. Erp. Farm life is sounding kinda sweet right now. haha

Rooster-girl! So sorry to hear about the photos!!! I'm sending enormous encouraging hugs your way as your magnetic field must be very strong right now to cause all electronics to blitz. Maybe a good day to buy a lotto ticket, too? haha! And I noticed we now have a guest reader on the blog- she commented on your photos from the farm!

Um, Godess-Do-it-Wrong-LaRoux. THE HOUSE?! updates. now.

I got a very charming note from Dev, as she gets herself figured out how to post, I'll put a snip:
"I'm well, house seems quiet, but its good, no complaints, animals all good, had delivery of new hay today, and they are all quiet munching it.. fixed hole in gate today as last night the 4 lambies slept on the front deck and had their heads through the cat flap at crack of dawn..... lil bugars." HAHA!!! Can't you just see that?!

Well, back to packing (with random distractions from magazine cutouts)... Let me say that my sausage is very exciting right now. Need more glue sticks.

Cheerio, D

reflections...

The memories of our beautiful week are still imprinted in my mind. Good thing too as i've lost all but my first 2 days worth of images. I stared playing around trying to retrieve the images on my own and I've managed to lose them. I look forward to seeing everyone Else's photos. I seem to be having a problem with electronics...my phone is phantomly erasing messages, my fan has stopped working today...ohhhh the heat dawling... and of course the camera! Eeeeps! I have a lot of work to do before i start a new contract on Wednesday that will take me through to the end of September, but i've decided to go for a swim and steam. A nice slow and easy start to the craziness.
This is a great thing...thank you ladies. I miss you all. x Leesa

GodessLaRoux - WORD

Well I'm just heading out to meet a man about a house but thought I'd take a moment to make my first contribution.  I love my new guise, Godess LaRoux.  There's nothing like Doing it WRONG as I have in the spelling of Godess.  After all it's just a word.  Speaking of Word....... thinking of the week long reflection on WORD.
Well Personally, refelctin on WORD  makes me  envision a  Carmen Meranda African drumming/dancing  solo that could only be from Salmon Arm.  It is then followed by the great vibrational sound that goes along with the word  hhhmmmmmmm?

I too am in the dreamy state...keeping thinking about the rusty bits now in my studio and can't wait. Look forward to hearing about everyone's first project after Hillside. I look forward to everyone's photos as well. I will take on making a book for whoever wants one...will just need CD's of everyone's photos or maybe we pick the best 25 and that goes into the book. It could be our gift to Dev next year......Valencia

yuppers!

Good stuff, Carlyn!
And as each person signs, up, I'll add them to administrative rights, so everyone can make adjustments to the site- like Carlyn said, add slide shows, or other lists.
Cheerio Dahhlings!
Yay!
The weird thing is, I was exactly 30 seconds away from sending an invite to all of you to join the 'Sausage LaRue' blog I built this a.m. WEIRD!!!!!

I don't see any option to contribute to the layout (I'm only given 'Posting' and 'Settings' but as visual types, I'm sure we'd like to add page elements. I'm thinking I'd like to add the slide shows and more lists etc...

Thank you, Dori!!!

Birth of the Blog...

Sweetie! Dahhling!

Welcome to our new blog!! Instructions for joining should be in your email.

It's only Sunday after we got home, and I am swimming in creative dreamy-ness, yummy cheeses and jams, and delicious wines... There is so much to continue to process after this week, my sausage is overflowing with "think on this" suggestions.

Dustin took me out for dinner last night, and I would just "wander off" in thoughts... Not exactly good dinner companion, but my head is so full.

So the point of this blog is to share more sausage stuffing, here's my recommendations:

Dori's Must-Read-Book:
The Red Tent, by Anita Diamant

Dori's Must-See-Movie:

That's all for now! Ciao.
